National Audit Agencies

The national audit agencies are responsible for auditing the accounts of all government departments and agencies as well as a wide range of other public bodies, and reporting to Parliament on the economy, efficiency and effectiveness with which these bodies have used public money.

The national audit agencies of Great Britain are made up of the following entities:

  • Audit Commission

  • National Audit Office

  • Northern Ireland Audit Office

  • Audit Scotland

  • Wales Audit Office

The audit agencies have jointly recently published their Value for Money indicators, which are designed to look at public sector performance in the areas of Procurement, Finance, ICT, HR and Estates Management:

Spikes Cavell has been selected to work with the Audit Agencies as a Benchmark Service Provider and will help public sector organisations to provide the necessary data to fulfil the requirements of the indicators with particular emphasis on the set of Procurement indicators.

A full set of PDF documents for the indicators are attached below. If you'd like help or guidance on preparing the indicators for your organisation please contact us for more information.
