Police, Fire and Rescue Services
The challenge of achieving demanding efficiency targets within Fire and Rescue Services and Police Forces…
In common with the rest of the public sector the Fire and Rescue Service is being called upon to deliver £110m (equivalent to 1.6% per annum) of savings in support of CSR 07. Moving forward with this will be essential if FRAs are to continue with modernisation improvements and provide value for money to the taxpayer.
Likewise the Police are being asked to make of their resources, despite the Audit Commission reporting that most police authorities are already managing their resources well. The three year funding settlement for the English and Welsh Police Service demands a challenging 9.2% cumulative efficiency target over the next three years, which will have to be achieved against a back-drop of other targets, and Government and public expectations for policing improvements.
To better understand what is being spent on what and with whom, Spikes Cavell has been selected by the NPIA to supply all the Police Forces in England and Wales with a full range of spend intelligence solutions to enabling Police Procurement Managers to identify savings opportunities, identify possibilities for collaboration and generate a range of key performance indicators in order to monitor and report on performance towards key procurement transformation goals.
